An inmate accused of attacking and sexually assaulting a teacher at an Arizona prison was serving a 20-year sentence for a conviction of sexual assault and kidnapping in 2013, records show.
Jacob Harvey, 20, is under investigation for the attack in which a teacher was stabbed with a pen and sexually assaulted on Thursday morning at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Eyeman in Florence, according to a corrections statement issued Friday afternoon.

Foul play was not a factor in the death of an inmate who died while in Maricopa County sheriff’s custody in October, according to a Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s report released Friday.
Felix Martinez Torres, 47, died of natural causes resulting from complications of a stomach ulcer, according to the report from Maricopa County Medical Examiner Mark Shelly.

The Tempe Chamber of Commerce issued a warning to local business owners to be aware of a scam involving individuals “fixing” and making a profit off of faulty fire protection equipment located in their business.
Individuals dressed in Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department uniforms have visited some Tempe businesses and asked to inspect their fire-protection equipment. The individuals also ask for access to extinguishers, sprinkler systems and fire alarms, according to the Chamber of Commerce statement.

Reports are buzzing online that Justin Bieber’s private jet was held at a New Jersey airport Friday because of suspicion that marjiuana was on the plane.
Sources have told NBC News, ABC News, TMZ and Page Six that the plane, landing in Teterboro, N.J. from Toronto, was held because a strong odor of pot. Page Six’s source reports that a canine team searched the plane, though no marijuana was found.

With electronic cigarettes gaining popularity, officials in Arizona and nationwide are seeing more cases of people exposed to too much nicotine, not just from inhaling but by spilling or swallowing the liquid drug.
Banner Good Samaritan Poison & Drug Information Center received 24 calls last year about nicotine exposure from e-cigarettes, 13 of them involving children. That’s up from 10 cases – four involving children – in 2012.
